Education and Entrepreneurship

Here's a great article on education by Arnold Kling

Couldn't agree with Kling more, especially after experiencing almost a semester in front of the classroom. The only thing I would add under Entry Barriers is either the total abolition of or the drastic reduction of restrictions on child labor and the elimination of the minimum wage, at least for folks under 16. What better way for kids who hate school to learn specific skills and, more importantly, develop a work ethic and learn what it takes to succeed in the real world than by being in the real world, and making a little money while doing it.

I love the idea of alternative schooling. Is it just me or is the current higher education structure a mess? 4 year universities teaching remedial math and algebra...ugh. What a waste of resources.
